2021 Lexus RC: more complete than ever
November 20 2020,
The Lexus RC Coupe is entering its seventh year on the market and for the occasion, it once again benefits from small improvements that make it one of the most attractive choices in the industry, all segments combined.
First, note the addition of an additional safety feature to the Lexus Safety 2.5+ system, an adaptive radar cruise control that is capable of operating at all speeds.
Another novelty this year is the addition of a variant to the range, the Black Line Edition. More details a little further.
For 2021, the RC Coupe comes in five different versions. Those with the number 300 come equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers 260 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. With 350 in the nomenclature, the same engine is used for the model, but it spits out an output of 311 horsepower and harbors 280 pound-feet of torque. Either way, all-wheel drive is standard, as is a six-speed automatic. Now let's see how each variant stands out.
The entry-level version is the RC 300 AWD Signature. The latter offers generous equipment which of course makes the jump with all the other variants. We're talking about heated front seats with eight power settings, a dual-zone climate system, keyless entry, push-button start, as well as cruise control mentioned above. The parking brake is also going electronic this year. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto applications are also available standard.
By upgrading to the RC 300 AWD Premium model, we add 19-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof, ventilated front seats, memory for the driver's position, a heated steering wheel, as well as blind spot alerts and rear cross traffic monitoring.
The jump to the RC 300 AWD F Sport Series 2 variant offers a host of F Sport features, including unique 19-inch wheels, more form-fitting seats, and aesthetic elements that set the model apart.
With the RC 350 AWD F Sport 3 Series proposal, we inherit the more powerful engine, as well as a Mark Levinson audio system that includes 17 speakers.
Finally, the Black Line model adds 19-inch F Sport alloy wheels decorated in black to the latest variant. That's the theme, of course, as the mirrors, exhaust tips, and the grille adopt this hue. This is also the case on board, but everything is embellished with silver stitching.
So, this is what the RC lineup looks like for the year 2021. As you can see, there is little to say about what remains a fairly exceptional car.
