October 31 2021,
The all-new Lexus NX is better than ever for 2022. It received a myriad of enhancements that position it at the forefront of the segment in terms of style, technology, performance and efficiency. The Lexus NX provides reliability and value in a package that is much more appealing than any German counterpart in the segment.
Here, we compare the 2022 Lexus NX with the 2022 Audi Q5.
Reliability, efficiency and hybrid superiority in the 2022 Lexus NX
The all-new Lexus NX enters its new generation with new engines. The base engine is a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine that outputs 203 horsepower. It is paired with standard all-wheel drive to conquer Canada’s changing road conditions. The NX 350 is the new turbocharged option in the lineup. It is powered by an all-new turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder with an output of 275 horsepower and 317 lb-ft torque. This engine is mated to a superbly calibrated 8-speed automatic transmission.
The 2022 NX offers two hybrid options. The NX 350h combines a 2.5-litre four-cylinder gas engine with an electric motor to deliver maximum efficiency and value. And the pièce de résistance in this new generation is undoubtedly the Lexus 450h+. This PHEV pairs the four-cylinder 2.5-litre engine with an electric motor to provide a combined output of 304 horsepower. It lets drivers travel as far as 61 kilometres on a single charge without using a single drop of gas.
The Audi Q5 has only one gas engine. It outputs 269 horsepower. It is fitted with a 7-speed automatic transmission, which is much less precise than the NX’s 8-speed unit.
The Audi Q5 only has one variant considered as hybrid. And although this model has a little bit more power under the hood, it cuts down the full electric range to almost half with only 37 kilometres.
You can also outfit your NX with the F Sport Handling Package which comes with the adaptive suspension for a more precise ride and cornering.
With a very diverse model lineup, all-gas and hybrid engines and a low starting price of $47,400, the 2022 Lexus NX surpasses the Audi Q5 on all facets. Call or come and see us today for more info.
