Lexus announces Safety Connect and Service Connect extensions for up to 10 years

Lexus announced the extension of the trial period of its advanced Service Connect and Safety Connect technologies for up to 10 years. The announcement was made in late September and significantly extends the period of time where certain Lexus models will provide their owners with the multiple benefits of Lexus Safety Connect and Service Connect, two components of Lexus Enform Connected services.

Initially, Lexus Safety Connect was offered on a free trial basis for three years while Service Connect was offered for up to five years. Both will now be available for 10 years free of charge on the following models:

• 2023 ES
• 2022-2023 NX
• 2023 LS
• 2022-2023 LX
• 2023 RX
• 2023 RZ
• 2022-2023 UX

Lexus Safety Connect explained

Lexus Safety Connect offers multiple benefits that improve peace of mind and confidence for Lexus owners. The technology provides four distinct functions.

Emergency assistance. If there is a health emergency or a collision or any other urgent situation on the road that requires assistance, Safety Connect includes an SOS button located inside your Lexus that you can press and be connected to a response centre who will be able to provide assistance 24 hours a day. If you are not sure where you are located, a GPS system in your car will allow emergency responders to get to you.

Improved roadside assistance. Once again, you can be connected to a live agent 24 hours a day if you require roadside assistance. Moreover, the Lexus Response Centre can use the GPS locator in your vehicle to send help to you even if you do not know where you are.

Automatic collision notification. The Lexus Safety Connect Response Centre will be notified of a collision involving your vehicle in real time. An agent will then try to reach you but if they can't, they will send assistance to guarantee that you get the help you need.

Last but not least, Safety Connect can help find a stolen Lexus vehicle, once again by using the GPS locator.

Lexus Service Connect benefits

With Lexus Service Connect, you have all of the information you need to ensure that your Lexus remains in perfect condition. You can get vehicle health reports that provide information on the state of the battery, oil levels, or even the battery in your key fob. You will also be notified if there is a recall on your vehicle.

Moreover, you can receive vehicle alerts. That means that you will be notified via a mobile app if one of your tires loses air pressure or there is a mechanical issue. The system will notify the owner, but it will also notify your dealership so that they know what the problem is when you arrive.
