Debuting Electrified Powertrains and Advanced Design, the 2024 Lexus TX Sets New Standards
The automotive world recently witnessed Lexus raising the bar for three-row luxury vehicles with the introduction of its first-ever TX, tailor-made for the North American audience. This innovative vehicle promises to make every seat the best seat, addressing the longstanding dilemma passengers face in larger vehicles.
Ensuring ample space, the TX boasts a generous cargo space of 20.1 cubic-feet behind the third row. Inside, guests will appreciate a tranquil interior ambience, underpinned by a powerful range of electrified powertrains which ensure both driver excitement and passenger comfort for up to seven occupants.
A nod to their commitment to variety and luxury, Martin Gilbert, Director of Lexus Canada, said, “The TX is designed to speak to an emerging market segment while expressing our ongoing commitment to electrification, technology, performance, and design." As the landscape of luxury vehicles diversifies, the TX showcases Lexus's dedication to meet evolving customer demands.
The TX not only embodies Lexus’s contemporary design language but also introduces unique aesthetics. Lexus designers emphasized aerodynamic performance, culminating in the creation of the new Lexus "Unified Spindle". This feature sees the headlights connected by a slender aperture beneath the hood's leading edge, followed by a low-set grille forming an uninterrupted spindle shape. This design enhances aerodynamic efficiency, ensuring improved vehicle stability.
Lexus doesn’t stop at external allure. The TX interior is peppered with advanced tech features. Notable is the Lexus Interface Multimedia System complete with a standard 14-inch touchscreen, providing effortless control for both the driver and front-seat passengers. An available 21-speaker Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound System is fine-tuned for the TX cabin, ensuring a superior auditory experience.
Utility and usability are consistent themes throughout the TX. Comprehensive storage options are available across all rows, along with seven charging/communication ports and three power outlets. An array of storage configurations ensures optimal convenience, from the front dual-opening console lid to the available second-row center console.
Under the hood, TX offers a choice between two electrified powertrains: a groundbreaking 3.5L V6 plug-in hybrid and a high-performance 2.4L turbocharged hybrid. These powertrains align with Lexus’s broader goals of transitioning towards a carbon-neutral society.
Additionally, the TX introduces enhanced driving dynamics with the Lexus Driving Signature fundamentals, promising a seamless drive experience. This SUV is anchored on the GA-K platform, known for its low center of gravity and optimal weight distribution, ensuring exceptional handling.
Safety remains a top priority for Lexus, with the TX featuring the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0. This comprehensive suite encompasses features like the Pre-Collision System, All-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and Lane Tracing Assist, solidifying the brand’s commitment to both driver and passenger safety.
The 2024 Lexus TX is expected to launch this fall. For those interested in diving deeper into the features and specifications of the TX, more details are available on the official Lexus website.
