The 2022 Lexus NX Is Better Than Ever
July 28 2021,
The Lexus NX has always been a favourite member in the compact luxury SUV segment. For 2022, the NX goes full throttle with a complete redesign. It is more sophisticated from the outside, but it now offers a selection of four powertrains and new technologies that put it at the forefront of the segment.
The 2022 Lexus NX offers four powertrains, including a PHEV
Whether you want performance or fuel economy, the 2022 Lexus NX has you covered. It starts with a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre which supplies 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque in the NX 250. This engine is paired with a sporty new eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The NX 350h (formerly known as NX 300h) gets a power boost with 239 horsepower. It’s also quicker from 0 to 100 km/h with a time of 7.4 seconds. Meanwhile, combined fuel consumption of 6.5 L/100 km is also lower than the outgoing model.
Then, there’s the brand new NX 350 with the 2.4-litre Turbo. It delivers 275 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. Combined with a new eight-speed automatic transmission and full-time AWD, it can go from 0 to 100 km/h in seven seconds.
This year, the NX adds two all-new powertrains including 302-horsepower NX 450h+ plug-in hybrid variant. This breakthrough engine provides an EV range of 58 kilometres which is much more than the competition. This range enables you to complete your day-to-day tasks without using a drop of gasoline.
The ICE part of the powertrain lets you go further on the weekends with optimal efficiency. Alas, PHEV doesn’t mean poor performance. This 450h+ variant can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in as little as 6.2 seconds. With a 240V power source, it takes about 2.5 hours to fully charge the 18.1-kWh battery.
A more upscale interior for the 2022 Lexus NX

You will also find a new seven-inch instrument panel and available 10-inch head-up display.
The NX also has a new Virtual Assistant which enables a voice-first approach to access navigation, media, phone and certain vehicle settings. The 2022 Lexus NX includes the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 which offers many new safety and driver assistance technologies.
