What does the Lexus NX 2022 have in store for us?
July 31 2021,
Completely redesigned, the 2022 Lexus NX was one of the big news for the auto industry in June. Lexus hasn't just changed its NX, it has completely transformed it with an improved engine lineup, all-new styling, more interior space and improved safety features. Scheduled for later this year, here's what the all-new Lexus NX 2022 has in store.
Several engine choices
The Lexus NX was previously offered with an internal combustion engine or a hybrid engine. It now offers four versions, and each has a separate engine.
1) Lexus NX 250 2022
The Lexus NX 250 will be entitled to a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine developing 203 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque.
2) Lexus NX 350 2022
The Lexus NX 350 offers a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 275 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. This makes it one of the most powerful four-cylinder turbo engines in the segment.
3) Lexus NX 350h
This hybrid engine offers 239 horsepower courtesy of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine combined with hybrid system. That's 20% more power than the hybrid engine of the previous NX 300h. Despite having more power, its average consumption is set at only 6.5 liters per 100 kilometers.
4) Lexus NX 450h
Perhaps the most impressive version of the new NX, the NX 450h is powered by a 305-horsepower plug-in hybrid motor that offers 58 kilometers of range. This means you can travel almost 60 kilometers without consuming a single drop of gasoline.
Cutting-edge technologies
There is a lot of new technology in the Lexus NX 2022. For starters, the Lexus Safety Sense 3.0 system adds power steering to avoid collisions as well as an automatic braking system at intersections. This device detects whether a vehicle or pedestrian is approaching when you turn left at a traffic light and can apply the brakes if necessary.
Adaptive Radar Cruise Control can now follow curves at a speed set based on the speed of traffic around. In addition, the NX can detect if a vehicle or bicycle is approaching when you open the doors.
Inside, a 9-inch center display is standard while a massive 14-inch system is optional. Lexus also announced a new virtual interaction system with the infotainment system, allowing it to "communicate" with the vehicle to adjust various functions.
A sportier style
The Lexus NX 2022 adopts a beefier and more aggressive style, especially in the F Sport version. The latter is also entitled to a new adaptive suspension that adjusts to the road conditions. Let us also mention that the rear hatch of the new NX adopts a new Lexus logo, that is to say the letters of the mark are spelled out along the tailgate.
