A Look at the 2023 Lexus Hybrid Lineup
April 14 2023,
Lexus was the first premium automaker to launch a hybrid model when the RX 400h was introduced back in 2006. Since then, its lineup of electrified vehicles has continued to grow in order to make Lexus the expert in hybrid premium and luxury vehicles.
UX 250h
The smallest vehicle in the Lexus Lineup for the 2023 model year is available only with an efficient hybrid powertrain. The UX 250h is a nimble subcompact SUV that offers a lot in terms of refinement, comfort, and technology. Its standard hybrid powertrain uses a 2.0L four-cylinder engine and electric motors to deliver 181 horsepower and a fuel consumption as low as 5.7 L/100km in the city and 6.2 L/100 km on the highway.
ES 300h
The 2023 Lexus ES is a comfortable mid-size sedan designed to offer drivers and passengers refinement and relaxation. Choosing the hybrid ES 300h also makes the ES very efficient and smooth due to the combination of a 2.5L four-cylinder engine and electric motors. This gives the ES 300h an output of 215 horsepower and a fuel consumption of 5,5 L/100km in the city and 5,2 L/100km on the highway.
NX 350h
The 2023 Lexus NX 350h is one of the newest hybrid models in the Lexus lineup since it was completely redesigned for the 2022 model year. This is why the NX is equipped with all of the latest technologies in terms of safety, infotainment, and connectivity. Under the hood, the hybrid version of this SUV is powered by a 2.5L four-cylinder engine and electric motors that deliver a total of 240 horsepower and fuel economy figures of only 5,7 L/100km in the city and 6,4 L/100km on the highway. A more powerful an more efficient plug-in hybrid drivetrain will also be added to the NX in 2024.
RX 350h and RX 500h
The Lexus RX is the brand’s best-selling model in Canada for its comfort, its practicality, and the efficiency of its hybrid powertrains. The 2023 version is offered with two electric powertrains that are aimed at different buyers, with the RX 350h targeting efficiency and the RX 500h targeting performance. The RX 350h is powered by a 2.5L hybrid system that generates 246 horsepower while drinking only 6,3 L/100km in the city and 6,8 L/100km on the highway. The RX 500h replaces the gasoline engine by a 2,4L turbocharged unit that brings the combined output up to 367 horsepower in exchange for a consumption of 8,7 L/100km in the city and 8,4 L/100km on the highway.
LS 500h
The Lexus LS is the most luxurious sedan in the brand’s lineup and thus, one of the most comfortable, luxurious, and technologically advanced sedans on the market. The LS 500h version uses a 3.5L V6 engine and an advanced hybrid powertrain to smoothly deliver 354 horsepower. Despite this output, the LS 500h only needs 10,1 L/100km in the city and 8,1 L/100km on the highway, significantly less than competing models.
LC 500h
The 2023 Lexus LC is a flagship luxury coupe that features impressive design elements and a high level of technology. The hybrid LC 500h version uses the same electrified 3.5L V6 powertrain as the LS 500h, which means it benefits from 354 horsepower and a high degree of refinement. Due to the lower weight of the LC, it manages to consume only 9,0 L/100km in the city and 7,1 L/100km on the highway.
